Dress Code
Hair must be pulled back off the face in a bun. Long bangs should be clipped back.
All dancers are asked to wear a cover up over their dance clothes when entering and exiting the studio. Please do not wear ballet slippers outside of the ballet studio space.
Ballet
Girls: Black Leotard, Pink Ballet Tights, Pink Ballet Slippers
(No skirts, dresses, or leg warmers please. No undergarments should be worn under tights.)
Boys: Black Dance Tights, White shirt, White Socks, Black Ballet Slippers
(Dance belt should be worn under tights. See linked examples below.)
Pointe
Girls: Black Leotard, Pink Ballet Tights, Pink Pointe Shoes • A short ballet skirt is permitted.
(Pointe shoes must be approved by our teacher.)
Contemporary
Girls: Leggings or Shorts and Leotard or T-shirt (No denim) • Bloch Dance Socks, Ballet Slippers, or Bare Feet
Boys: Joggers or Shorts and T-Shirt • Bloch Dance Socks, Ballet Slippers, or Bare Feet
We ask that dancewear not be purchased through a big box store like Walmart or Target as they are not designed for ballet training and may not offer the support necessary for class. We want all of our dancers to get as much out of class as possible, and the proper attire will give them the confidence and comfort needed to focus while still allowing our teacher to see their positions and make corrections.
Please reference the links below for examples of proper dance attire which fits within the Foundations Ballet dress code. Students not in uniform may be asked to sit and observe class.
